NOAA'S EARTH DAY HOME PAGE

For most of us, Earth Day is a symbol of environmental responsibility and stewardship. In keeping with that, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's research laboratories' focus for Earth Day 1997 is the connection between people and the environment. NOAA labs have put together a web site that shows key areas of research that relate to the themes of Earth Day and how human activity can affect natural systems.

At NOAA laboratories around the country, environmental researchers work on a daily basis examining, explaining, and exploring this wonderful planet. From climate researchers studying floods or drought to meteorologists looking at weather phenomena to scientists investigating ozone depletion, our purpose is to study the many facets of the Earth and, thus, serve the people of this country.

You will find our web site at http://www.erl.noaa.gov/EarthDay Under related links, look for other fun Earth Day sites, from environmental projects to Earth Day events planned around the country. Take good care of the Earth and enjoy Earth Day!
