NOAA’s People & Infrastructure

Our People

Public demand for services and information produced by NOAA's people is expected to increase sharply in FY 2002 and beyond. Answers to many questions of National policy and economy are grounded in NOAA's scientific services and information products. Rising trendlines include:

Americans depend on NOAA's ability to collect and interpret environmental data in the context of a scientific model and to translate that data into information of value to commercial and policy decision-makers.

The $60.0 million requested for ATBs are essential for NOAA to continue meeting core mission-related requirements even at existing levels of growing demands.

Our Infrastructure

Data collected by sensors on land, on sea, in the air, and in orbit are transmitted over an information architecture to people in buildings for processing on computer systems.
